This was a piece I wrote earlier this year originally titled "I've Got a Lot On My Table".

There's a lot On My Table
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble...
Wobble, Wobble, Wobble...
People come,
People go,
Alone I sit at my table.
They leave, then come back.
There's something this place lacks.
Alone I feel.
These friends, they come in packs.
Before I know it, I only see their backs.
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble,
Wobble, Wobble, Wobble...
Friends today and enemies tomorrow!
Don't worry buddy, I've got your back!
I'll give you a hand if you need.
Ring around the Rosy,
Round and Round we go.
Today enemies, tomorrow buddies.
Don't worry my friends, I've got your backs!
I'll give you a hand when you need.
But only one hand,
I need the other to guard my back.
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble...
These people, they sit at my table,
A few across and some on the side.
A wink here, a tap there, a kick under,
And whispers flying in the air.
The smile of sunshine, but the tongue of a serpent!
Good One, She Said. (I'm Pissed.)
Wobble, Wobble, Wobble...
I gave them my hand,
And away they walked with it.
One hand gone,
While the other pulls out the dagger from my back.
Don't worry my friends! I've still got your backs!
Alone I sit at my table.
Who is friend and who is foe?
I really don't know.
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble...
I remain seated at my table,
I watched as people come and go.
A hand gone, a heart bleeding,
But a mind wiser than it was yesterday.
These people,
They've come back...
To sit at my table.
Wobble, Wobble Wobble!
Here comes my plate of Jell-O!
These people have seated across the table.
Enemies today,
But they say,
"Soon it will be tomorrow!"
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!
I take a bite out of my Jell-O.
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble!
They remind me of this Jell-O;
Unstable, easy to break apart and
Transparent, but tainted with some colour.
Wobble, Wobble, Wobble.
Wiser I will be tomorrow.
I see the colours
And I see through the Jell-O.
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble.
I eat from this plate on my table.
Today, I have two hands;
One to guard my back,
The other to turn the table.
I've still got your backs my friends.
Your back is all I've seen of you.
